Tennis Championships begins today

Karachi: The Boulevard Mall National Seniors and Juniors Tennis Championships begins today (Saturday) at Hyderabad Gymkhana in Hyderabad. The tournament, which would be organized by Hyderabad Tennis Association (HTA), is scheduled to conclude on February 15. National events to be contested are Juniors 18 singles and doubles, 14 and under singles and doubles, 10 and under singles and doubles, 40 plus doubles, 45 plus doubles and 50 plus singles. A Sindh ranking event of men’s singles is also included.

Organizers have received 125 entries from Lahore, Karachi, Hyderabad , Mirpurkhas, Badin and Dadu. Hasheesh Kumer is the top seed in Juniors 18 singles. Magatir Muhammad Khan is favorite to clinch the title in U-14 singles event. Abubaker Talha is the top seed in Under-10 event while Varsha Das in No. 1 seed in girls U-18 event. Rashid Malik is top seed in 50 plus singles event.
