Thanking God and Jemima, Imran submits additional documents in SC

ISLAMABAD (NNI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan submitted in the Supreme Court on Monday details of £100,000 pounds with regards to the disqualification case being heard against him.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar is heading a three-member bench hearing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi’s petition against Imran calling for his disqualification for owning offshore companies and receiving foreign funding.

The documents submitted today state that Imran only contested and won the 2002 and 2013 elections and did not take part in the 2008 polls.

They state further that Imran had foreign currency accounts in two banks in Pakistan but after 2000 he did not have any account outside the country.

In a message on Twitter, Imran said by the grace of God and thanks to [ex-wife] Jemima’s record keeping, he has submitted all the additional money trail record demanded by the Supreme Court.

“My record of £672k now before SC in entirety. Meanwhile, NS [Nawaz Sharif] not provided any doc beyond fraud Qatari letter of Rs 300bn money laundering,” he wrote in another tweet.

He also quipped that a ‘friend’ called him to had he been in Imran’s place, his former wife would have taken money from Sharifs and put him in jail.

At present, the court has wrapped up its proceedings in the case but not given a verdict as it is hearing the second part of Abbasi’s petition — against PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen.
