ISLAMABAD: The incumbent government has sold out Kashmir, the special status of Kashmir had been removed and critical decisions are being made without consultation with Kashmiri leadership.

It was observed by the President Peoples Party Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen along with other party leaders of PPP Azad Kashmir during a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday.

Chaudhry Yaseen said that the government has tabled a resolution in the senate for giving the status of Province to Gilgit Baltistan, about which the people of Kashmir have serious reservations.

According to him, the government has not consulted the Kashmiri leaders on the issue; hence the Kashmiri leadership is not in the favor of the division of Kashmir and opposing any legislation which affects the status of the Kashmir issue at global forums.

Chaudhry Yaseen said that it would be betrayal with the sacrifices of the martyrs who laid their lives for the freedom of Kashmir because these actions would derail their mission.

PPP leader said that as the opposition parties including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and others are preparing for a vote of no confidence against the PTI government in the center, the incumbent government has moved the bill of provincial status for the Gilgit Baltistan in the senate to divert the attention of the public.

The opposition leader in the Azad Kashmir legislature Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar was of the view that the government should avoid initiation of such controversial actions that hurt the sacrifices of the martyrs and affect the situation about Kashmir issue at the international level.

Chaudhry Latif Akbar said that the PTI government has expertise in creating an issue out of non-issues for the sake of its politics, however, it must avoid touching the matters relating to national interests for political purposes.

Former Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob said that no single Kashmiri is ready to accept the GB as a separate province but as part of Azad Jammu Kashmir and PPP Azad Kashmir will strongly oppose the division of Kashmir at all forums.
Sardar Yaqoob advised the parliamentarians, not to approve such legislation which is against the interest of the country.
