PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao on Wednesday condemned the violation of the Pakistan’s airspace by the Indian warplanes and said his party would stand by the armed forces in case of any eventuality.
In a statement released from the Watan Kor, he said both the countries should exercise restraint as the situation could spin out of control and lead to a full-fledged war.
“The region cannot afford to face a war between the two nuclear states as millions of people are already living below the power line,” he said.
Aftab Sherpao called for urgently summoning a joint session of parliament to discuss the fresh violation of the Line of Control by India.
He also urged the United States, China and Russia to play their role in defusing tensions between Pakistan and India.
Cautioning against warmongering, he said politicians from both the countries should also make efforts to reduce tension between Islamabad and New Delhi.
The QWP leader said Pakistan was a peace-loving country and its desire for peace must not be construed as its weakness. He said India should not point the finger at Pakistan whenever an attack took place on its soil.
He said both the countries should take out their differences as war was not the solution to any problem.
However, he said the Qaumi Watan Party would not hesitate to render any sacrifice if war was imposed on Pakistan.
