Three children among five injured in blast near Quetta hospital

QUETTA: A blast in a heap of garbage in front of a Quetta hospital at Double Road injured five people including three children.

After having the information, Rescue 1122 officials and police rushed to the scene. The police cordoned off the area and started a search operation.

Rescue sources said among wounded there were three children, a policeman and a passerby. The wounded were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The SSP operations Jawad Tariq said explosive material was placed in a heap of garbage. The gypsy children were searching for something valuable from the heap when explosion occurred. He claimed it was not a security lapse.

He maintained that security was already tight due to upcoming general elections on Feb 8.
