Three-day book fair concludes at PUTA hall

PESHAWAR: A three-day International book fair organized by the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) at the Peshawar University Teachers’ Association (PUTA) hall concluded here on Thursday.

IJT’s Central Nazim Hamza Muhammad Siddiqui inaugurated the last day of book fair. IJT’s General Secretary Kaleem Ullah, Campus Nazim Shafiq Ur Rehman, Salman Bin Ihsan and Immad Nizami were also present on this occasion.

On the occasion, Hamza Muhammad Siddiqui also visited various stalls and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements.

While speaking on the occasion, he said curricular and extracurricular activities play a pivotal role in the character building of the students.

He added, unfortunately, the culture of book reading has been gradually decreasing in our educational institutions which he maintained had negative ramifications on the students.           

He added further that the books play an important role in the mental and intellectual nourishment of students.   

It merits mentioning here that Around 70 leading international as well as national academies, publishers and book-sellers had participated in the book fair.   

The book fair has become a regular event, where the students get books and other education related accessories on discounted rates.

Eminent Publishers from Afghanistan and Turkey had also established their stalls to attract the attention of the students towards their cultures and literature.
