PESHAWAR: Three more people suffering from dengue fever died during treatment here on Saturday after which the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa mounted to 48.
Dengue Response Unit (DRU) said that dengue tests of 1610 people was conducted across the province of which over 300 more people were diagnosed with dengue. Majority of the affectees hail from the provincial capital.
The three latest dengue victims were under treatment in the hospitals of the provincial capital where they expired despite all out efforts of the medics.
The recent deaths due to dengue virus have brought the overall toll in the province to 48.
Hundreds of people affected of dengue were under treatment in hospital while hundreds others have been discharged.
