ISLAMABAD: The envoys designate of China, Vietnam and India Thursday presented their credentials to President Mamnoon Hussain in a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The envoys who presented their credentials included Yao Jing Ambassador-designate of China, Pham Hoang Kim Ambassador-designate of Vietnam and Ajay Bisaria High Commissioner-designate of India to Pakistan.
During the separate meetings with the envoys, the president said that Pakistan desired to further enhance bilateral relations with all friendly and neighbouring countries for peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
He underlined that the landmark project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would not only result in the progress and development of Pakistanand China but it would also be a game-changer for prosperity of the entire region.
He stated that the policies and initiatives taken by the incumbent government had resulted in strengthening the economy of the country.
President Mamnoon underscored that Pakistan offered great investment and business opportunities and international investors should avail these by investing in different sectors.
The president felicitated the newly appointed ambassadors and a high commissioner to Pakistan hoping that they would work for further strengthening the bilateral ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.
The president also wished the newly appointed envoys a comfortable and pleasant stay in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain says welfare of nine hundred thousand overseas Pakistanis is an important responsibility of the country.
Talking to Chairman Board of Governors of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Barrister Amjad Malik in Islamabad on Thursday, the President directed to improve welfare of the community and performance of officers in the embassies of Pakistan.
The President emphasized that the foremost goal of the OPF should be the welfare of overseas Pakistanis and their families in Pakistan. He hoped that OPF will continue to perform this duty in a befitting manner.
While expressing concern regarding decline in the number of overseas Pakistanis, he stressed that there is a need to explore new employment opportunities abroad for the skilled and non-skilled Pakistani workers.
The President underlined that OPF should increase the contacts between overseas Pakistanis and our embassies abroad so that their problems can be resolved in an efficient manner.
In this regard, the performance of community welfare Attachés’ should be improved, he added.
The President stated that work should be started regarding determination of quota for the admissions of the children of overseas Pakistanis in the educational institutions of Pakistan.
He also underscored that all possible efforts should be made to establish Pakistani schools in Arab countries so that affordable education could be provided to the children of our overseas community.
Chairman, Board of Governors, OPF Barrister Amjad Malik thanked the President for taking personal interest in resolving the problems of Pakistani immigrants.
