KOHAT: The Deputy Commissioner Khalid Ilyas Wednesday expelled three female teachers from the district for refusing to perform polio vaccination duty and warned others of similar punishment in case of dereliction from duty.
The expelled teachers included one each of Government Girls High School Shiekhan, Government Girls Primary School Darmalik and Government Girls Primary School Tiraha Wal Bandha Lachi. The DC directed the concerned department to file cases against the three female teachers to Director Education KP. He said that polio vaccination is a national cause and everyone is responsible to play his/her role in this regard, adding that it is national duty to protect the coming generation from permanent disability. He also stressed upon parents to cooperate with the polio teams and get their children immunized against the polio disease.
