TIMERGARA: On directives of Deputy Commissioner Dir Upper, Khalid Iqbal, assistant commissioner Shringal Muhammad Saqib Khan conducted surprise raids at Shringal bazaar by arresting three flour dealers for overcharging and profiteering.
The assistant commissioner examined different flour and wheat shops and imposed heavy fines against three arrested flour dealers. Five shopkeepers were also fined Rs30,000 collectively for selling ‘atta’ on high prices against Govt approved rate.
The AC warned shopkeepers and flour dealers of taking strict action if found guilty of overcharging and hoarding of the most essential commodity. Deputy Commissioner Khalid Iqbal said there was no shortage of flour and wheat in the district and sufficient stock was available to cater people’s requirement. He said district administration would continue action against elements involved in hoarding and price hike.
