Three killed, 20 injured in Sibi’s Jail road explosion near

QUETTA: Three people were killed while more than 20 injured in a powerful blast near a local rest house on Sibi’s Jail Road on Tuesday.

The injured were shifted to Sibi Civil Hospital.

The blast shattered the windows of nearby buildings. The blast was heard far away and security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

The nature of the blast is being determined, the BDS said.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo condemned the Sibi bomb blast while expressing condolences over the loss of innocent lives.

CM Balochistan directed to provide the injured with the best medical facilities. Terrorists are trying to sabotage the Sibi’s historic festival, CM Balochistan added.

CM Balochistan added that the incident of terrorism is a conspiracy against the employment of workers. He said the anti-development elements do not want the people of Balochistan to develop and get jobs.

Chief Minister Balochistan directed to increase security in Sibi city and use all resources to arrest the elements involved in the incident.

It is pertinent to note that President Dr Arif Alvi also arrived in Sibi today on a one-day visit for the closing ceremony of Sibi Mela.
