Three killed, eight injured in Jalalabad explosion

MUMBAI: At least three people were killed and eight others were injured in a bomb blast in Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province on Monday.

Nangarhar Governor Spokesman Attaullah Khogyani confirmed the news and told that at least the death toll rises to three and eight people were injured in it.

Khogyani told Afghan news channel that a motorcycle bomb had been used in the bombing in PD3 Jalalabad city.

He added that all the victims in the explosion were civilians and adding that contrary to early reports, the explosion had not been close to the stadium where Gulbuddin Hekmatyar had earlier addressed a gathering.

No group including the Taliban has claimed responsibility for the explosion yet.
