Three killed in firing during Eid Miladul Nabi rally in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: As many as three persons were killed and five others injured in a firing during an Eid Miladun Nabi rally in Kot Diji Fort area of Khairpur on Thursday.

Police and Rangers personnel reached the site after the incident and cordoned off the area and started search operation in the surrounding area.

The injured were shifted to nearby hospital by Rescue officials.

The reasons behind the incident are yet to be identified.

Muslims across the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar (Rabi-ul-Awwal).

On the occasion, rallies are held by the Muslims with the start of the month across the world. This year Eid Milad-un-Nabi is to be celebrated across the country on December 1 (tomorrow).
