Three policemen held, SHO suspended

PESHAWAR: Three policemen arrested and Station House Officer (SHO) were suspended after video viral on social media in which the citizen were badly torture and humiliated within the premises of Tehkal police station, on Wednesday.

According to notification issued by the Capital City Police stated that Station House Officer (SHO), Shehryar Khan has been suspended while cases against the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), Zahir Ullah, constable, Naeem, and constable Tauseef have been registered and sent them to behind the bar. A few days back, Raziullah alias Amir Tehkalai video had viral on social media in which he used abusive language against police officers in a private gathering.

Soon after that video, another video was uploaded in which Amir was shown in a police station apologizing for his abusive language and promising not to repeat the same language again.

However, after that videos, two others videos of Amir appeared on social media in which some police personnel naked and torturing him.

The videos went viral on social media and became a top trend and every one criticize the police personnel for the barbaric and inhuman act.

SSP Operation Zahoor Babar Afridi took notice of the incident and suspended the SHO of Tehkal police station. SSP Operation also ordered the registration of cases against ASI and two constables of the same police station.

Zahoor Afridi said that the three police officials have been arrested and they have been sent to lock-up.

Directorate General of Law and Human Rights Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also took the notice of the matter and nominated Deputy Director, Maqsood Ali to inquire into the case and submit report within three days to the competent authority.
