ISLAMABAD: Political and religious parties, students and members of civil society will protest on Friday at Abpara area of Islamabad against the persecution of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
The Islamabad administration has blocked all the entry routes towards Red Zone with the aim to stop any move from rally’s participants to enter the Red Zone of the capital.
Authorities have deployed 7500 security officials to make sure the safety of rally. The main procession will be taken out by the Jamaat-e-Islami, whose chief Sirajul Haq is expected to lead the rally.
Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a route plan to ensure that commuters of the twin cities are not disturbed as a result of the protest.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, urged protesters to remain peaceful and adding that the sanctity of the Red Zone should be respected.
