TKN protest

The deliberate changes made in the Khatam-e-Habawwat declaration through person specific Election Bill 2017 once again brought to the front burner a permanently settled issue .Tehrik-e- Khatam Nabwwat announced a sit in to register their anguish and indignation. They took out arally “Tehrik-e-Labaik” and blocked all routes to the federal Capital at Faizabad. An innocent boy child of eight months breathed his last as he could not reach the Pakistan Medical Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital well in time.
Bilal Ahmad father of the deceased child has registered a case in-koral Police Station Kadim Hussain Rizivi and his accomplices. He told the Police Station, if they had been given a passage on time; his child who was in critical condition could have been saved. He reiterated that Kadim Hussain Rizivi and his accomplices are responsible for the death of his child and they should be given punishment under Section 322 of CrPC. The KTN rally virtually created a complete jam in daily activities. The government servants could not reach their offices. The lawyers, their clients and other litigants faced extreme difficulty to reach the District Courts of Islamabad. The infuriated lawyers went on strike.
By igniting once again the most sensitive issue of pre-partition era, the former disqualified Nawaz Sharif has tried to kill two birds with one stone. Firstly to create disorder for diverting the attention of the people from his under trial graft cases and corruption tainted image. Secondly, to portray his so called soft image abroad, particularly in the US and UK. That is why, the Parliamentary Committee to probe this matter and fix responsibility on the ones who made changes in this declaration turned out a hush up exercise. If the history of PML (N) leadership is any indication then it is not difficult to find that Nawaz Sharif, while in power, invites a trouble to trouble him. During his first tenure of government he locked horns with president Ghulam Ishaq Khan. Nawaz Sharif confronted Ghulam Ishaq Khan in the wake of Bartholomio, the US Assistant Secretary of State unpleasant meeting with the latter. Former Secretary General Roedad Khan disclosed in an interview with media outlet that there was an exchange of hard-words between Mr. Khan and the US assistant secretary of state, Bartholomio regarding the Pakistan Nuclear program. In October, 1999, he sacked the sitting COAS General Musharraf while he was returning from Srilanka in PIA flight along with some 200 passengers in that flight. The aeroplane was not even allowed to land in Pakistan and was directed to land in India even though he knew that the plan was running out of fuel. If this is not a dictatorial and un-democratic attitude, then what is? As a necessary evil, he has to be ousted from power to demolish his derange agenda. During his present term of office, he rejected the PTI demand for opening for recounting four National Assembly constituencies for conducting a rigging probe. PTI has to go for sit-in in the D-Square of Islamabad. After Panama Papers revelations the former Prime Minister compelled the PTI leadership to resort to the lockdown of Islamabad. Now he has not accepted the historic decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Panama papers case and has started smear campaign against the Judiciary. It would be worth while that Nawaz Sharif must refrain from tacitly igniting the sensitive issue of religious sentiments and confrontation with the state institutions.
