Tomato’s price rises by Rs30 while Onion’s rises by Rs10 per Kg
KARACHI (NNI): Tomato and Onion prices skyrocket yet again in Karachi due to widening gap between supply and demand due to short supply from Sindh, causing the price of tomatoes at Rs150 per Kg, to cross even the price of live chicken which stands at Rs130 per Kilogram.
The price of onions has also increased to a staggering Rs80 per Kg after an increase of Rs10 per Kg.
The high prices have made it difficult for consumers to afford these vegetables which are almost necessary ingredients for daily meals.
On the other hand, the consumers hold that prices fluctuate due to government’s fragile policies which are still being ignored as government is busy solving their personal political issues.
The consumers are complaining that price control committee is also doing nothing in this regard and are afraid that the rates of tomatoes, which are already higher than chicken, will rise further if no action is taken by the administration.
