Top Ukrainian official says Kyiv finds Indian-made components in Russian attack drones

KYIV (AA): Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office Andriy Yermak said on Tuesday that Kyiv is finding Indian-made components in Russian drones used against the war-torn country.

?he New Delhi-based Hindustan Times reported Tuesday morning that an investigation by Ukrainian authorities established the use of electronic components from two companies — Vishay Intertechnology and Aura Semiconductor — by Russia in the production of attack drones.

Citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter and documents reviewed by the outlet, the report said that the Ukrainian side raised the issue with India’s Foreign Ministry at least twice since last year through “formal diplomatic correspondence,” as well as with EU sanctions envoy David O’Sullivan before his visit to New Delhi last month.

“India’s exports of dual-use items are in keeping with its international obligations on non-proliferation, and based on its robust domestic legal and regulatory framework. Due diligence is conducted to ensure that such exports do not violate any of our laws,” the report quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal as saying in response to a question on the matter.

“Unfortunately, we are finding Indian components in Russian attack drones,” Yermak said in a statement on Telegram, while also sharing the Hindustan Times report.

Expressing that the drones concerned are being used on the front line in Ukraine and against civilians, Yermak stressed the need to “deprive the Russians of the opportunity to receive components from other countries and stop the killing of Ukrainians.”

“Also, buying Russian energy resources is financing war, which does not contribute to peace,” he added.
