Tourists’ facilitation center set up in Dir

TIMERGARA:  The Lower Dir traffic police on the directives of district police officer Arif Shahbaz Wazir on Wednesday set up a tourists’ information center at Bab e Dir check post Chakdara, the entrance to the area in order to facilitate national and international tourists.

The Adenzai tehsil nazim Qamar Zaman and traffic in charge Shad Muhammad Khan inaugurated the center during a function which was attended by police officials, local traders and area elders.

Speaking on the occasion Qamar Zaman and others said the area had great potential for tourism. They said there had been scenic spots at Laram Top, Shahi, Binshahi, Sheen Ghar, Asbanr, Kumrat and Lawari Top. They said those scenic spots could become hubs of economical activities if were focused by the government. They said there had been many attractive places in Dir for international tourists but they needed government attention.

The traffic in charge Shad Muhammad said that tourists bound for Dir, Swat and Chitral would be provided information and guidance at the center as it was the gate way to all these areas. He said the tourists would also be provided with maps, beautiful places, printed cards and security at the center.
