KARACHI: Indus Motor Company (IMC) has won the Best Corporate Excellence Award in the category of Automobile Assembler, as adjudged by the Management Association of Pakistan (MAP), while recognizing and honoring companies that exhibit outstanding performance and demonstrating progressive management practices during the year 2019. The award was received by Mr. Mohammad Ibadullah, Chief Financial Officer, IMC, in a ceremony held by MAP at Karachi. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives.

IMC is one of the largest car manufacturers in Pakistan and one of the biggest tax contributors. This is the 5th time IMC has won this Best in Sector Corporate Excellence Award since 2010, whereas IMC has already won the Overall Industrial Corporate Excellence Awards four times.

The evaluation for the Awards comprised of four phases i.e. (a) shortlisting on the basis of dividend payouts during the last three years, (b) detailed financial assessment, (c) review of management practices, and (d) management interviews. The evaluation of awards was carried out and the results were compiled by a neutral third party consultant hired by MAP.

Mr. Ali AsgharJamali, CEO IMC said, “We are thrilled to receive the award. Though quite diverse, these awards are all linked to one inseparable outcome: that is to make Indus Motor more successful and better than what we are today.” He further added, “Excellence is more than a set of year-end results. So it’s more than a destination, it’s a journey.”
