Traders, shopkeepers held over price hike, substandard food items
SHANGLA: The district administration Wednesday held a number of traders and shopkeepers over artificial price hike and sale of substandard food items. They were challaned and fine was also imposed.
Following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner to have a close check on supply and demand as well as ensuring nominal prices and quality control of essential commodities in the local markets, Assistant Commissioner Puran Zamin Khan and AC Alpuri Tariq Mahmood paid surprise visits to various bazars in their respective areas.
During raids at different commercial concerns, a number of traders and shopkeepers were found over charging and having substandard food items.
Meanwhile the Shangla District Administration asked the traders community to uphold the sanctity of the holy month of Ramazan and avoid creating artificial scarcity of daily items, hoarding, self-price fixing and adulteration etc otherwise strict action would be taken against the law breakers, the administration warned.
