Transport Dept’s annual revenue increased

JALALABAD (Agencies): Departments of transportation traffics of Nangarhar province shared their annual report about their achievement in a media conference on Wednesday.
The provincial traffic department chief, Qari Mohammad Javad Sheirzad said that his department distributed driving licenses to 5,720 people and vehicle licenses to 744 people from which 8,964,269 Afghanis collected in revenue this solar year.
According to unofficial figures, there are about 100,000 vehicles in the province, he said.
He added that 40 people died and 102 people were injured in 85 traffic accidents in the province in the outgoing solar year.
On the other hand, Mufti Mohammad Zaman Mozamil said, transportation department chief of Nangarhar said that since the establishment of Islamic Emirate, all operations of the Torkham terminal have been handed over to the department of transportation, a move that helped to reduce traffic congestion in Torkham port.
He said that the they collected 53 million Afghani revenue this year compared to 35 million Afghanis collected last year.
He said that the department is continuously working to standardize the transportation system of the province.
