Trump asks Ghani to close Taliban office in Qatar

WASHINGTON: United States President Donald Trump has asked the Afghanistan President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani to close the Taliban office in Qatar and apparently its is move of increasing the pressure on the Taliban group as part of the new US policy to counter the terrorism in the region.

President Trump has discussed the new US policy and its implementation with Afghan counterpart President Ghani.

The international newspaper reported that it is likely that President Ashraf Ghani will agree on the closure of Taliban office in the Doha, capital of Qatar. The decision was taken in the light that after several years since the Taliban office was opened no positive results were came from it.
