KABUL (Agencies): In a meeting with the Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, the Turkish ambassador in Kabul reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to providing additional assistance to the victims of the Herat earthquake. Expressing his condolences for the losses suffered due to the recent earthquakes in Herat, the ambassador assured that more aid is forthcoming from Turkey.
The ambassador also highlighted that Turkish aid groups have already been dispatched to the disaster site to provide immediate relief. He emphasized Turkey’s strong relationship with Afghanistan and assured that Turkey will continue to stand by Afghans during these challenging times. Alhaji Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani, the Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, acknowledged the close relations and shared values between the two countries.
He commended Turkey’s efforts in assisting Afghan refugees. To facilitate the safe and voluntary return of Afghan refugees, the Acting Minister requested Turkey to allow Afghan attachés in their country. This move is expected to streamline processes and provide necessary support for returning refugees.
