Turkish Naval Chief, NSA discuss bilateral ties

Islamabad: Vice Admiral Adnan OZBAL, Turkish Naval Chief, along with his delegation, met National Security Adviser Lt. General (R) Nasser Khan Janjua this morning.

Besides different aspects of improving bilateral relations and defense cooperation, matters pertaining to security situation in the region were also discussed.

NSA warmly received and welcomed the Naval Chief of Turkey to Pakistan and said that Pakistan enjoys exemplary relations with Turkey. There is no match for warmth and affection shared by both the countries and their people, he said.

The Naval Chief expressed his gratitude for the love and affection he received in Pakistan and said that Pakistan is a close friend of Turkey.

He also acknowledged and appreciated the role of Pakistan for strengthening peace in the region and for eliminating terrorism from its soil. “Turkey clearly recognises the security challenges faced by Pakistan today and can even relate to them. Having trouble in neighbourhood, Turkey is also facing national security challenges” he added.

He also expressed desire to further enhance cooperation in defense and defense productions. While discussing security situation in Afghanistan and in the region, NSA highlighted the nature of perpetual conflict in Afghanistan and the role of Pakistan to support and strengthen peace there. The Naval Chief shared facts regarding the ongoing war in Syria and the adjacent areas and the security challenges it possess for Turkey. Both countries have a similarity in the nature of challenges faced by them.

They concluded. NSA also appreciated the role and contributions made by Turkish President for Turkey, Pakistan and more so for the Muslim World and said that such like tall leadership figures help multiply mutual love and respect between our countries besides serving the world better.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the upward trajectory of bilateral relations and reiterated their strong resolve to support each other and to further enhance and strengthen their mutual cooperation.
