JALALABAD: Unidentified gunmen have kidnapped director of a private Radio Television in Jalalabad City, the capital of eastern Nanagarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.
Eng. Zalmay director of Enikass Radio Television network was kidnapped by unknown armed men in limits of 4th police district when he was buying things in a shop at around 5pm, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Attaullah Khogyani said the armed men in armored corolla vehicle abducted Zalmay after gunned down his driver.
On the other hand, Inamullah Miakhel, provincial public health director, said Zalmay’s driver had been brought to hospital injured and succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.
An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said individuals in a corolla vehicle shot dead one person and abducted another one in front of culture and information department on Tuesday evening.
He said police arrived at the area soon after the incident and cordoned off the area.
There has been so far no word in this regard from any militant group or someone else. (Pajhwok)
