TVE-KP, Industrial Association Sign MOU for Promoting Technical Education

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocation Training Authority (KP-TVET) sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Industrial Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to promote technical education and provide job opportunities to the skilled youth.

A ceremony was organized here at Shaheen Training and Vocational Education Training Institute Abbotabad for better and coordinated efforts in order to promote and development of TVET sector, focusing on demand driven skills and placements of local skilled workforce in various employable sectors.

The representative of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (KP TEVTA) Sharafat Ali witnessed the MOU signing ceremony along with representatives from industry and private sector. The principal of the institute and chairman of association signed the MoU.

The initiative has been supported by the TVET Sector Support Program, funded by the European Union and governments of Germany and Norway. An advisory forum has already been established in the province for promotion of TVET training along with fostering partnership among stakeholders.

The representative of KP TEVTA speaking at the occasion said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is making its utmost efforts to promote technical and vocational education and training (TVET) with the cooperation of business and industry associations.

The speakers at the occasion including Haji Iftikhar, chairman Industrial Association of Abbottabad highlighted that the cooperation and better coordination mechanism between institutes and industry would ensure better human resource thus resulting in creation of maximum job opportunities for the youth.

They added that launching of demand driven courses especially the competency based training and assessment system would not only result in human resource and qualified workforce but at the same time would bring the economic prosperity in the province.

GIZ representative Muhammad Ali said that the initiative will help the youth to provide them better opportunities as well as they will also get international Certificate  recognition and those people who were in Gulf countries they will take benefits from the certificate and will get job opportunities.

He further informed that the those child labor who is already working in different workshops they can get online test and can get certificate if they have work experience in their specific field.

He added that already more than 120 countries across the world were working on this plane and the students who get the certificate they can not only work in Gulf Countries but as well as their certificate will be accepted in Europe and other western countries.

Muhammad Ali further informed that the course of the certificate is design through market demands as earlier the students get certificate but they were not accepted by the industries, adding that through proper survey the course has been designed and now the students were get trained through market demands.
