Twelve crushing plants closed by administration

PESHAWAR: As many as 12 crushing plants have been closed down on Sunday in Azakhel and Gari Chandan area of Peshawar after district administration officials carried out action against them.

The action, according to spokesman of district administration was taken in the light of directions of Supreme Court of Pakistan. In order to follow the directions of superior court, the deputy commissioner Peshawar Islam Zeb, directed officials of administration to initiate action against owners of crushing plants for violating rules and regulations.

Additional Assistant Commissioners Qaiser Khan Kundi and Fazal Raheem along with officials of minerals and industries departments took action against owners of crushing plants in two different areas of provincial city.

The administration team inspected the crushing plants in Azakhel and Gari Chandan area of Peshawar and later sealed down 12 among them, official added.

Deputy Commissioner earlier had informed the owners of crushing plants to register their plants with relevant departments and follow the rules and regulations in this regard otherwise a stringent action against them will be taken.

It is worth mentioning here that the district administration officials have earlier taken actions against crushing plants in Urmar, Musazai and Bahadar Kalli of Peshawar and closed down several plants.
