BARA: Two children were killed and eight others received sustained injuries when a roof of the house collapsed in Bara tehsil of the Khyber tribal district on Saturday night, locals and official sources said.
The sources said one Sher Badshah owner of a house’s room cave in at wee hours due to heavy rain in Sipah area in Bara tehsil. As a result, two children identified as Salman and Maryam were killed on the spot while eight others sustained injuries.
Soon after the incident, the locals rushed to the site and retrieved the bodies and started rescuing the injured. The injured were shifted to the Dogra hospital for treatment.
An another incident, three buffalos were killed when a wall of the house collapsed in Mandikas.
Meanwhile, two roofs of a house including a central wall was collapsed in the backdrop of torrential rain in Pero Khel area of Landi Kotal tehsil.
One of the members of family, Khan Said of Pero Khel area of Landi Kotal informed that his cousin known as Tariq Khan son of Waris Khan,s house badly damaged in recent span of rain. He further added two roofs including a front wall of a house were extensively collapsed while no human losses occurred.
He appealed district administration and other relevant authorities to pay heed to this incident and assist the affected person who is helpless and unable to reconstruct his home.
