KHOST: A clash between security forces and Taliban left two children dead in the Janikhil district of Paktika province, officials said Monday.
The security forces and Taliban gunmen exchanged fire in the Babukhil village of Janikhil district as result two children were killed, said Shah Muhammad Areen, spokesman of Paktiya governor.
He said the children were playing outside their homes when hit be the bullets fired by Taliban, adding there was no casualties to the security forces.
Local residents stage protest rally against Taliban after the incident.
Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the children were martyred by government forces’ mortar shelling.
He said the residents held protest against government forces, not the Taliban.
