Two more die of dengue fever in Peshawar, toll climbs to 52

PESHAWAR: The dengue continued to take lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as two more people including a woman died of the mosquito-borne disease in Peshawar on Tuesday bringing the toll from the deadly virus to 52.

According to Dengue Response Unit (DRU) the two patients including a female belonged to different areas of the provincial capital and under treatment at hospital after affected of the virus.

Meanwhile, over a thousand people were screened in different hospitals of the province and 368 of them were diagnosed with dengue virus.

Among the new diagnosed dengue patients, over a hundred were admitted at various hospital while others were sent home with medicines.

Presently, over 300 hundred dengue affecttees were under treatment at the three tertiary care hospitals of Peshawar i-e Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) and Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC).
