QUETTA: Two persons died Monday in explosion of an improvised explosive device (IED) in Johan area of Kalat district, Balochistan.
According to the Levies sources, the deceased were the flood-hit people, and they were coming with relief items from Johan to Kalat on a vehicle in which the IED had been planted.
The houses of the deceased had also been swept away in recent floods. One of the deceased persons was stated to be from Kalat and the other from Sindh.
On information, the Levies and other law-enforcement agencies reached the spot, and investigation into the explosion was underway.
Mir Ziaullah Longo, Adviser to Balochistan Chief Minister on Home Affairs, expressed sorrow over the death of two persons in the IED blast.
He sought a report on the incident from the Kalat deputy commissioner, pledging that the people of Kalat would not be left alone.
He prayed for the rest of the departed souls in eternal peace, and he also reaffirmed the vow to fight against the enemies.
