KARACHI: Two accused in rape and killing case of six-year old Rabia were arrested and remanded into police custody here on Wednesday, however, a First Information Report was also lodged against the protestors, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s local leaders, under terrorism charge who took to the roads on Tuesday to protest the incident.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday emerged another case in which two more girls have reported gone missing some three days ago from Ramzan Goth area of Surjani Town, which is adjacent to the Mangophir where six-old Rabia was allegedly strangled after being raped by the accused Rahim Bux and Fazal Dad.

Both the accused were produced in the court after which the judge remanded them into police custody till 25 April. Speaking to media, father of the girl said that he wanted to lay his daughter to rest but the dwellers of the area began protest. The statement of father reinforces the version of Sindh Government, which has blamed PTI for inciting people, which resulted in the killing of one person.

Baqa Muhammad, Father of the deceased girl, told that police have arrested Rahim Bux and Fazal Dad. He said that Rahim Bux, who is the uncle of girl, should be freed, whereas the second arrested accused Fazal Dad should be interrogation as he was the one who had purchased candies for the girl from a shop.

He said that he will indicate further people and police should interrogate them as well. “I want justice. Two girls had gone to the shop; one returned whereas my daughter was killed mercilessly,” father of the girl told.

Meanwhile, police Wednesday registered a first information report (FIR) against a group accused for staging violent protest. According to reports, the protest had turned violent, following which police had resorted to firing and teargas shelling to disperse protesters.

Police filed an FIR against the protesters, some of whom are political workers, under charges of terrorism. “The FIR against the protesters has been registered,” Karachi-West DIG Amir Farooqi told.

SP Orangi Abid Baloch told confirmed to The Frontier Post, informing that some of those named are the local leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf.

Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal visited Orangi Town and met the relatives of the slain girl. The home minister accused the PTI leadership of “playing politics with the girl’s coffin”. Siyal said two of the three suspects are already in police custody and so there was no “justification” for the protest.

Meanwhile, PTI Sindh leader, Haleem Adil Shaikh said that Tuesday’s violence was the outcome of “mishandling” on police’s part, clarifying that no PTI worker was involved in sparking riots or inciting violence.

The PTI leader demanded for an FIR to be registered against the police over the protester’s death, warning that the failure to do so would force them to hold another protest on Thursday.

Meanwhile, parents’ of two girls have said that their daughters left together to meet their neighbor, Sonia, but have not yet returned. They alleged that the police refused to file a complaint on April 15 as they said that it can only be done after a brief search. The police have now taken into custody Sonia and her husband and said that they have filed the case and are conducting raids in the neighborhood to recover the missing girls.
