Two guards killed in Saudi Palace shooting

RIYADH: The Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia has confirmed that a gunman killed two Saudi guards and injured three others at the gate of the royal palace in Riyadh on Saturday.

As per the interior ministry information, the Royal guards killed the gunman and the attacker was identified as Saudi national armed with a Kalashnikov and three grenades.

Ministry added that the cowardly attack took lives of two royal guards and he was also dealt with iron hand

Islamic State (IS) has claimed several bombings and shootings attacks against Shiites and security forces in the Sunni-majority kingdom since 2014.

Saudi Arabia is a member of the US-led international coalition that has been battling the Sunni extremist group in Syria and Iraq.
