Indian LoC firing leaves one local martyred, four wounded

RAWALPINDI (NNI): A local was martyred and four others wounded in another violation of the ceasefire by Indian troops at the Line on Control on Monday.

According to Inter Services Public Reltions, a local named Muhammad Deen embraced martyrdom while four others were injured in the cross-border firing of the aggressor’s forces in Rakh Chakri Sector.

Pak Army responded befittingly to Indian firing and destroyed their two check-posts.

The ISPR also released the video of destruction of Indian check-posts.

Meanwhile, Indian Deputy High Commissioner was summoned to Foreign Office in Islamabad Monday to lodge protest over the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces at Rukh Chakri and Rawalakot Sectors on Line of Control.

The Director General South Asia and SAARC Dr. Mohammad Faisal on this occasion condemned the ceasefire violations resulted in the shahadat of three civilians, and injuries to five others, including a woman.

He said the deliberate targeting of civilians is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity and international human rights laws.

The Director General said ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation.

He urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement, investigate this and other incidents of violations, and instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC.
