HAFIZABAD: A villager and a minor student were killed while two women seriously inured in two different road mishaps at two different places.
A fifth class student of Muslim High School Hafizabad was crushed under the wheels of a tractor-trolley in Qatal Garrha Chowk Hafizabad this morning.
According to police source, 12-year-old student Ali Hassan of Cheenay village was proceeding to his school on his cycle and when reached near the chowk a recklessly driven tractor-trolley coming from opposite direction hit him as a result of which he died on-the-spot. The tractor driver sped away after the mishap. The city police have registered a case against the driver and are investigating. The students and teachers of the school protested against the inhuman attitude of the tractor driver and demanded his immediate arrest
Similarly, Amanat Ali of Kot Hassan Khan alongwith his daughter Kishwar Bibi and niece Farzana Bibi was on way to Hafizabad and when reached near Jurian a speeding van No. HZK-4900 hit his bike as a result of which Amanat Ali died before any medical aid could be made available to him while Kishwar and Farzana sustained critical injuries. The police have registered a case against the van driver who managed his good escape after the incident. The police have shifted the dead body and injured to the DHQ Hafizabad.
