Two recovered in KP, 121 total confirmed cases: Ajmal

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor to Chief Minister on Information Ajmal Wazir Khan said Thursday that corona virus has been confirmed in 121 persons in province adding the number of suspects is 694 across province.

Briefing media through video link from Civil Secretariat, Ajmal Wazir said that public awareness against corona virus is inevitable.

He urged the stakeholders and others to convince people to avoid public gatherings, mobs and stay in isolation saying that avoid unnecessary visits to markets.

While briefing on the corona cases emerged in KP, he said that 121 person in the province are suffering from infection adding that the number of suspects in KP is 694.

Ajmal Wazir said that out of 43 samples collected from Manga Mardan district 39 have been turned out positive.

Giving out details of confirmed cases the Advisor said that two positive cases have also surpassed in Quarantine established in Dera Ismail Khan adding that the test results of 159 persons were negative while the test results of 317 are awaited.

He also that two persons have recovered from the ailment and have made to their homes back.Ajmal shared further that three perons have died of the infection in the province.

Giving details of fighting corona disease in merged districts, he stated that 176 quarantines have been established which can accommodate more than 4400 persons adding that 442 perons have been quarantined so far and 515 health staff have been stationed in quarantines in merged districts.

He briefed the media further and said that 1400 calls have been received on helpline 01700-0800, out which 206 calls were regarding corona virus which were referred to concerned District Health Officer wherein 30 infected suspected persons were identified.

He said further that out of those 30 suspected persons corona virus was confirmed in four persons.
