Two soldiers martyred, four injured in Bara blast

RAWALPINDI: An improvised explosive device exploded on vehicle of Security Forces in general area Bara, Khyber District on Saturday. Resultantly, Naib Subedar Hazrat Gul (age 37 years, resident of Lower Dir) and Sepoy Nazir Ullah Mehsud (age 34 years, resident of South Waziristan) embraced Shahadat.

Sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists in the area. Pakistan’s Security Forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Soon after the mishap, reinforcement of forces was rushed to the site and with help of locals shifted the bodies and injured soldiers to the nearest health center for medical aid. The deceased were identified as Subedar Hazrat Gul and Naik Nazir whereas the wounded were known as Naik Muqarrab, Sepoy Haris, Sepoy Niaz and Sepoy Wajid. Naik Muqarrab was stated to be in precarious condition.

Vehicle of the forces was also destroyed in the offense, the official said. A missive search operation had been launched in the area to trace the culprits, the official said. According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police information in the last three months a total of 25 attacks had been filed in which 125 were martyred and 212 got injured.
