U.S. designs new Embassies and Consulates

WASHINGTON DC: U.S. has selected a team of designers for the designing new embassies and consulates that U.S. will ensure increased security for the staff informed the U.S. spokesperson on the matter.

These embassies and consulates will be a resilient platform for U.S. diplomacy he added.

The spokesperson added that, the designer team is requested to design the consulates and embassies in such a way that will reflect U.S. culture, American values and its people.

He added that OBO prefers to work with architecture firms that promote and represent American culture, its architect design, engineering, sustainability, and culture and construction execution.

He mentioned these three firms that have undergone changing and new designing for the promotion of American culture and is art.

U.S. Embassy in Port Louis, Mauritius: Richärd Kennedy Architects of Phoenix, Arizona

U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Morphosis of Culver City, California

U.S. Consulate General in Curaçao: Kieran Timberlake of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The spokesperson further explained saying that, since the start of the Department’s Capital Security Construction Program in 1999, OBO has completed 162 new diplomatic facilities and has an additional 51 projects in design or under construction.

He also applauded OBO for providing safe, functional and resilient facilities that represent U.S. government in foreign nations.

The designs supports the Department’s achievement of U.S. foreign policy objectives in the host countries added the spokesperson of U.S. State Department.
