U.S, Slovakia sign MoU on 5G Security

WASHINGTON: The office of U.S State Department reported that Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met with Slovak Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok in Washington, D.C.

During the meeting, Secretary Pompeo and Foreign Minister Korcok adopted a U.S.-Slovak Joint Declaration on 5G Security, reaffirming U.S commitment to keeping untrusted vendors out of critical infrastructure, U.S State Department reported.

The official statement stated that, they also established a U.S.-Slovak Strategic Dialogue to further strengthen our security cooperation, foreign policy collaboration, economic prosperity, and longstanding people-to-people ties, the statement mentions.

The official spokesperson of U.S State Department further mentioned that, the Secretary and the Foreign Minister discussed shared commitment to overcome and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and to support a peaceful and democratic Belarus.

During the meeting, Secretary Pompeo and the Foreign Minister Korcok agreed on the need for coordinated action to defend shared values and interests from threats posed by communist China and Russia, the statement highlighted.
