KABUL (Khaama Press): The British Embassy for Afghanistan has announced a commitment of $125 million to support vulnerable individuals in Afghanistan. This assistance will focus on areas such as children’s education.
On Tuesday, the Embassy said on its official page that these contributions will be concentrated on the education of Afghan children. The UK’s representation for Afghanistan emphasized their commitment to a secure and prosperous Afghanistan, and the aid provided will be channelled through their partners to support vulnerable people, especially girls.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Children’s Fund has reported providing cash assistance to over 80,000 Afghan citizens in the first six months of this year. Additionally, the UN-affiliated aid organizations had previously warned about budget cuts and increasing humanitarian needs in Afghanistan. A reported budget shortfall in Afghanistan is poised to strip millions of their access to vital healthcare and sufficient food.
This dire situation jeopardizes the fragile healthcare system and exacerbates food insecurity, creating a pressing humanitarian crisis that demands immediate attention and action from the international community.
