UN declares PIA as ‘harassment-free’ airline

F.P. Report

KARACHI: The United Nations has declared Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as ‘harassment-free’ airline, on Saturday.

The national carrier will be given the harassment-free airline award at a ceremony to be held in Islamabad.

Sources said that PIA CEO Arshad Malik, Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women Kashmala Tariq and the United Nations representatives will attend the ceremony.

In past one month, PIA earned fame and received appreciation from international organizations and the UN for uplifting foreign nationals and journalists in August—the day Taliban took over Kabul—and continuing its humanitarian flights carrying food aid to Afghan brethren.
