UNAMA head, UNESCO representative visits Bamyan

BAMYAN (Agencies): The Special Representative of the Secretary General of the UN for Afghanistan and the head of UNAMA, representative of the UNESCO and educational and cultural officials of the organization met with governor of Bamyan during their trip to the province.
In this meeting, they discussed issues related to security, education, women’s and human rights.
Mawlavi Abdullah Sarhadhi, the governor of Bamyan sought support of UNAMA in distribution of humanitarian aid and large and implementation of vital projects in the field of agriculture and livestock in Bamyan province.
Meanwhile, Patricia McPhillips, the representative of UNESCO in Afghanistan, said: UNESCO in Bamyan province, while continuing its activities in the field of vital literacy, will soon start the work of consolidating the Buddha area and the city of Ghulghula in the province.
