WASHINGTON: Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Dr. Colin Kahl met with the German Federal Ministry of Defense Parliamentary State Secretary Siemtje Moeller on Thursday, November 3, in the Pentagon to reaffirm the strength of the U.S.-Germany defense relationship.
During the leaders’ first-ever meeting, they discussed current developments in the war in Ukraine, Indo-Pacific security, Germany’s recent increase of defense spending and its modernization, and the Department of Defense’s release of its National Defense Strategy.
Under Secretary Kahl welcomed Germany’s close cooperation within NATO towards the implementation of decisions taken at the Madrid Summit in June, to include ensuring NATO’s deterrence and defense posture remains credible.
The two leaders expressed their commitment to ongoing dialogue on issues of mutual concern to further deepen the bilateral defense relationship.
