Unregistered travel agencies sealed

PESHAWAR: The officials of the DTS and local administration on Thursday sealed two unregistered travel agencies. The action was taken on the directives of secretary Tourism Department.

The DTS Peshawar, Inspector Jamil Khan, Assistant Commissioner Shabqadar, Akram Shah and Tehsildar Zulfiqar along with police party raided various bazars and checked the registration documents of hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and rent A-car businesses.

The team sealed two unregistered travel agencies Saba Travel and Najran International Travel Agency on Michini Road and took the record during the action.

Meanwhile, the DTS officials, including Inspector Idrees, Inspector Sajid and Zuhaib met Additional Assistant Commissioner Buner, Waseem Khan and informed him about the ensuing action against the unregistered hotels, restaurants, travel agencies and rent A-car businesses.

It may be mentioned here that a team of DTS and district government in a joint action had on Wednesday had sealed 11 unregistered hotels, restaurants and eatery outlets in Pabbi in Nowshera district. The official said that some of the hotels were also serving substandard and unhygienic food stuffs to customers for which they were closed down.

Since upgradation of the Tourist Services Wing of the Tourism Department to a full-fledged Directorate of Tourist Servics, the entity has been effectively controlling and supervising the hotel and travel industry and other businesses related to tourism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
