Uplift schemes in Lower Dir to be completed on time

TIMERGARA: Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir Sarmad Saleem Akram on Saturday said that work on 752 development projects with Rs 940 million costs in the district was in progress.

Talking to local journalists here he said that 80 per cent of the work had been completed. He said the Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP) in collaboration with European Union and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was executing these projects in Lower Dir.

The officer said that schemes of clean drinking water, streets’ pavement, construction of link roads and safety walls, additional rooms at schools and hospitals and construction of community centers were included in these projects. He also expressed satisfaction on quality of the work and said that local communities were strictly monitoring the projects. The deputy commissioner said the concerned contractors had been directed to complete all the ongoing schemes within its stipulated time.
