US antitrust agency loses bid to suspend Microsoft’s Activision deal

WASHINGTON (AFP): A US federal judge on Tuesday refused to allow the temporary suspension of Microsoft completing its $69 billion buyout of gaming giant Activision Blizzard, a court filing showed.

The US Federal Trade Commission requested that the deal be halted pending an investigation on antitrust concerns, but Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said “the FTC has not shown a likelihood it will prevail on its claim.”
