US Commander in Afghanistan met with Commander of Thunder Corps

KABUL: The Commander of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission Gen. Scott Miller who is also in commander of the U.S. forces in Afghanistan met with the Commander of 203rd Thunder Corps Gen. DadanLawang.

The 203rd Thunder Corps in a statement said the meeting took place in Lightening Camp where the two sides discussed regarding the current situation of South-eastern provinces, ongoing operations, and future plans.

The statement further added that Gen. Lawang briefed Gen. Miller regarding the existing situation, ongoing operations, and future plans.

According to 203rd Thunder Corps, decisions were also taken regarding some important issues at the end of the meeting.

In the meantime, Gen. Lawang said the issue of ongoing international efforts towards peace process was also discussed during the meeting.

Gen. Lawang also added that the Taliban militants did not have any achievement since the announcement of their Al-Fatah spring offensive emphasizing that the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are well trained, equipped, and are capable to defend the interests of the nation.

He also added that added that enemies have sustained heavy casualties, have lost their morale, their fighting machine are on the verge of collapse, and further ground and air operations have been planned which would be implemented in the future to further pressurize the enemies to participate in peace talks.(Khaama Press)
