US drone crashed in Parwan

KABUL: A US unmanned aerial vehicle crashed close to Bagram Airfield in northern Parwan province of Afghanistan Sunday afternoon.

“At 2:50 p.m local time today, an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) suffered engine failure and crashed into a field approximately five kilometers south of Bagram Airfield in Parwan province,” the US Forces-Afghanistan said in a statement.

The statement further added that there were no injuries and the incident is under investigation.

Bagram Airfield is one of the largest US military bases in Afghanistan and is home to thousands of U.S. forces. (Khaama Press)
