US embassy says Rapid Trident drills strengthens relations with Kiev

KIEV (TASS): The military exercise Rapid Trident – 2021, which is being held in the Lviv region, is helping to strengthen relations between the United States and Ukraine. This was announced on Monday by the US Embassy in Kiev on Twitter.
“Rapid Trident – 2021 continues to strengthen our relationship and join forces,” it said. According to the embassy, ??for the first time in the framework of the exercises, the paratroopers of the United States, Ukraine and Poland on Saturday successfully conducted a joint airborne operation.
Earlier, the Command of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) informed that the landing took place from military transport aircraft of the US Armed Forces S-130 “Hercules” using American T-11 parachute systems from a height of 400 m. The paratroopers underwent the necessary additional training under the guidance of the instructors of the US Armed Forces.
The multinational exercise Rapid Trident – 2021, which has been held since September 20 at the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security of the National Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petr Sahaidachny in the Yavoriv district of Lviv region, involves 6,000 military personnel from NATO countries and partners, including servicemen from USA, Bulgaria, Germany, Canada, Lithuania and Moldova. This year, the maneuvers will end on October 1.
The aim of the international exercise is to increase the interoperability of the countries participating in the NATO Partnership for Peace format and improve the actions of the rapid reaction forces.
